Assalaamu’alaykum wa rahmatullahi wabarakaatuhu,
The Myriad Foundation hosted a truly remarkable and unique event at the British Muslim Heritage Centre in Manchester on Sunday 22nd March 2015 entitled:
Being the Example: Rethinking Da'wah in the UK
The event included lectures, a showcase of research and projects from around the UK with the addition of a 3-course meal. This was a unique networking opportunity with a display of best practices in Da’wah and a showcase of the latest developments within the Da’wah in the UK.
We focused on issues Muslims face in the UK and our current Da’wah efforts alongside how we can build a legacy through active relations and ‘Being the Example’. The Myriad Foundation has long been promoting the concept of Holistic Da’wah. We feel that the holistic approach is synonymous with the Da’wah of the Prophet (salallaho alayhi wa sallam) and that it should be brought to the forefront of our methodologies once again. We feel that an approach that focuses around building relationships and trust as well as creating a legacy of Islam in communities within the UK will help demystify Islam and open the hearts of non Muslims; thus enabling the message of Islam to reverberate much deeper in society.
We had an incredible line up of scholars, activists and Islamic thinkers from the UK and hundreds of people in attendance alongside influential dignitaries. This event was a pioneering initiative in the field of Holistic Da’wah, it enabled us to rethink our current strategies and posit appropriate solutions in line with the prophetic way.
Special thanks to the BMHC team for their wonderful support throughout and for the media coverage by our dear friends at Iqra TV.
The event was recorded and aired by Iqra TV.
